The role
We're hiring a People & Talent Generalist to anchor hiring at Versatile while stretching into the work that actually moves an early-stage company forward market research for new verticals, EOR operations, talent insight reports for founders and clients, and the messy, high-judgment problems that don't fit a job description yet. You'll work directly with the founders, run projects end-to-end, and grow as fast as the company does. This is a role where the title undersells the scope, and that's the point.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end hiring across creative, operational, and business roles from intake to offer closure.
- Source and screen high-quality candidates through LinkedIn, communities, referrals, and creative outbound channels.
- Run kickoff conversations with founders and hiring partners (internal and client-side) to translate vague asks into sharp role briefs.
- Support the EOR vertical onboarding flows, client coordination, documentation, and operational follow-ups.
- Research new markets, talent segments, and business expansion opportunities; turn findings into clear recommendations.
- Build talent insight reports and decks for leadership and clients market mapping, comp benchmarks, hiring trend analysis.
- Improve our recruiting and ops systems workflows, trackers, outreach templates, candidate experience.
- Use AI tools (Claude, Apollo, sourcing agents, automation) to compress hours of work into minutes wherever possible.
What We're Looking For
- 1–2 years in Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, Executive Search, or a fast-moving startup generalist role.
- Strong sourcing and candidate evaluation instinct you can spot signal in a noisy resume.
- Comfort working directly with founders and senior stakeholders; you can ask sharp questions and hold your own.
- Fluency (or curiosity and speed) with AI tools for research, sourcing, automation, and content.
- Excellent written communication, you can turn a research finding into a clean two-slide takeaway.
- High ownership: you don't wait for instructions, and you close loops without being chased.
- Organized and adaptable; comfortable holding 4–5 unrelated threads at once.
