About the Department
Are you a highly motivated information technology (IT) professional with experience in CADD support, automotive and heavy diesel garage diagnostic software and vehicle connectivity, hardware and software in a traffic management center, and familiarity with concepts of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) environment? Position Duties
In this IT Generalist 1 position, you will join our Infrastructure team in providing a variety of support and systems enhancement activities for IT end users. Your work will help employees stay connected, solve problems, and use technology with confidence. This includes District and County offices as well as Construction Field offices, County Stockpiles, Welcome Centers, Driver License Centers, and other remote Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Department of Economic and Community Development (DCED), and PA Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) sites as required. Duties in this role involve the following:
- Tier 2 IT Support: Troubleshoot, resolve, and document hardware, software, and network problems escalated from Tier 1 IT support; identify potential large scale problems and escalate to Tier 3
- Hardware Management: Install, maintain, and update standard office technology, cabling, and specialized equipment for vehicle fleets, remote traffic management, and telecommunications
- Network Support: Assist with connectivity issues, configure network components, and support secure remote access
- Software Assistance: Provide help with standard applications, mobile apps, and specialized software for engineering, automotive and heavy diesel garage, and traffic management
- User Support: Teach IT classes on both hardware and software, help employees at all levels effectively apply IT solutions to work applications, and travel to various locations within your assigned region

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position involves travel, typically in the south-central region of Pennsylvania including Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming counties.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. This position typically works in the office three days per week. Telework options beyond that depend on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Dunmore. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
- One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
- This particular position also requires you to possess two or more years of full-time experience in:
- IT support/installation involved with technology CADD support (Installation and support of software such as Open Roads, Cadd Software, Bentley Software etc.)
- IT support/installation involved with technology of automotive and heavy diesel garage diagnostic software and vehicle connectivity (For example: engine diagnostic code readers, ODB2 scan tools, Ford IDS software, AutoEnginuity, Premium Tech Tool, Noregon JPro etc.)
- IT support/installation of hardware and software in a traffic management center and familiarity with concepts of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) environment

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
