High School Assistant Principal
Each day you, as the Assistant Principal at Pennfield High School, are energized by the
opportunity to support students, staff, and the school community. Throughout the day,
you’ll help create a safe, respectful, and engaging environment where students are
encouraged to reach their full potential. You’ll work closely with teachers to strengthen
instruction, support behavior systems like PBIS, and ensure that student services and
supports are implemented with care. Whether you're assisting with student discipline,
connecting with families, or stepping into a classroom, your presence sets a positive
tone across the building. You’ll also take part in school events, collaborate with staff, and
help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. As the day winds down, you may be
preparing for upcoming activities, celebrating a student success, or offering

Assistant Principal Who:
● Supports a safe, inclusive, and achievement-focused school culture.
● Assists in evaluating staff and instructional programs to promote growth.
● Collaborates with staff to strengthen Professional Learning Communities
(PLCs).
● Helps manage daily operations and ensure smooth school functioning.
● Assists with compliance and implementation of 504, Special Education, Title,
and At-Risk programs.
● Promotes student engagement and enforces consistent behavior
expectations.
● Communicates regularly with staff, students, parents, and district leaders.
● Supports staff development and in-service training efforts.
● Participates in school improvement, strategic planning, and district initiatives.
● Helps supervise extracurricular and athletic programs.
● Implements policies in alignment with district, state, and federal guidelines.
● Implements and supports district curriculum and instructional initiatives with
fidelity and collaboration.
● Builds positive relationships with families and community partners.
● Supports student safety, discipline, and crisis preparedness.
● Uses data to guide decisions around instruction, behavior, and MTSS
implementation.
● Leads and supports PBIS implementation to promote a positive school
climate, reinforce expectations, and celebrate student success.
● Attends School Board meetings, Curriculum Council, and other key school
and district functions.

Your Qualifications:
● Master’s degree in Educational Administration or Leadership, or ability to
obtain Michigan School Administrator Certification in 3 years.
● Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (preferred)
● Minimum of three years of successful teaching or educational experience
● Demonstrated leadership experience working with students, staff, and families
● Strong skills in student discipline, behavior systems (such as PBIS), and crisis
response
● Ability to use data to support academic and behavioral decision-making
● Professional, collaborative, and student-centered in conduct and
communication
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Compensation: Based on experience and the administrative payscale
● Reports To: Director of Secondary Education
● Starting Date: July 2026
