About the role

As a Special Needs Student Tutor, you will work one-on-one with students who have special needs in a private online tutoring environment. You will use your patience, creativity, and compassion to help these students build academic skills and improve their overall learning experience. Responsibilities: - Work one-on-one with students who have various special needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning challenges - Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet each student's unique needs - Use a variety of instructional methods, including hands-on activities, visual aids, and technology tools, to engage students and facilitate their learning - Monitor student progress and adjust lessons as needed to ensure they are meeting their learning goals - Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on the best ways to support the student - Maintain detailed records of student progress and sessions Requirements: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience working with students with special needs - At least 1 year of experience providing academic support or tutoring to students with special needs - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and the Penn Foster team - Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for helping students with special needs succeed - Proficiency in using technology, including video conferencing platforms and educational software - Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate student needs
