Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a PEMB (Pre-Engineered Metal Building) Steel Checker based in Pune, India, with some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves checking detailed structural steel drawings for accuracy and compliance with project specifications and international codes. The Steel Checker will collaborate with detailers and engineers to review erection and shop drawings, verify dimensions, ensure compliance with project requirements, and identify errors or discrepancies for correction. Additional responsibilities include reviewing RFIs, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring adherence to project timelines.
Qualifications
- Expertise in reading and interpreting structural and architectural drawings
- Proficiency in software such as Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, and Revit
- Comprehensive knowledge of international steel detailing codes and standards
- Strong quality-checking, attention-to-detail, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and team collaboration abilities
- Time management skills and ability to handle tight deadlines with consistent accuracy
- Prior experience in PEMB steel detailing or checking is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline
