The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout the facility. This includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, lunchrooms, and meeting rooms; replenishing supplies; setting up meeting spaces; and assisting with janitorial inventory.
Responsibilities
- Prepare meeting rooms before and after scheduled events.
- Inventory and replenish janitorial and maintenance supplies.
- Clean and sanitize lunchrooms, including tables, counters, and floors.
- Wipe and clean refrigerators and microwaves inside and out; defrost refrigerators monthly.
- Clean, polish, and disinfect drinking fountains.
- Thoroughly clean manufacturing restrooms, including sanitizing fixtures and replenishing supplies.
- Empty trash and recycling containers in designated areas; replace liners and clean exteriors as needed.
- Empty outdoor trash containers and maintain cleanliness in parking lot areas.
- Spot-clean walls, doors, and light switches in lunchrooms and restrooms.
- Check and replace burned-out light bulbs in office areas.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and according to procedures.
- Comply with all safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures.
- Rotate to other positions as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude for operating cleaning equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret standard work instructions and safety guidelines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving, adaptability, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate respectfully in a team setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
- Training timeline for this position is up to 2 weeks.
