(Part-time / Contract / Advisory – Remote or Hybrid)
About the Role
We are looking for a Pediatric Nutrition Consultant to guide families of infants and young children (0–5 years) with science-backed, practical, and culturally sensitive nutrition support. This role sits at the intersection of clinical knowledge, parent education, and real-world feasibility.
You will help shape nutrition guidance across breastfeeding, complementary feeding, toddler nutrition, picky eating, growth concerns, and micronutrient adequacy—while ensuring alignment with global pediatric standards and developmental principles.
Key Responsibilities
1. Parent-Facing Guidance
- Provide clear, evidence-based nutrition recommendations for:
- Breastfeeding and formula feeding
- Introduction of solids (6–12 months)
- Toddler nutrition (1–5 years)
- Picky eating, food refusal, appetite variability
- Growth faltering, undernutrition, and common nutrient gaps
- Support parents through consultations, Q&A sessions, or async reviews (depending on engagement model)
2. Content & Program Development
- Co-create:
- Nutrition modules, guides, and checklists for parents
- Age-wise feeding frameworks (what, how much, how, and why)
- Red-flag indicators for referral to pediatricians or specialists
- Ensure content is:
- Scientifically accurate
- Simple, reassuring, and non-judgmental
- Practical for working parents and diverse household setups
3. Standards, Safety & Accuracy
- Ensure alignment with:
- WHO / UNICEF / IAP / AAP-style guidelines (as relevant)
- Growth monitoring best practices (weight, height, head circumference interpretation)
- Review and validate nutrition claims, FAQs, and app/tool outputs
- Clearly define boundaries between nutrition guidance and medical advice
4. Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Pediatricians / developmental experts
- Early-childhood educators
- Product and content teams
- Help design decision trees and parent-safe defaults for nutrition-related queries
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nutrition / Dietetics / Clinical Nutrition
- Specialized training or demonstrated experience in pediatric or maternal-child nutrition
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with infants and young children (0–5 years)
- Strong grounding in:
- Infant feeding physiology
- Complementary feeding
- Growth and nutrient requirements
- Comfortable translating science into parent-friendly language
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience working with:
- Startups, digital health, or parenting platforms
- Large-scale parent education programs
- Familiarity with:
- Indian and/or global dietary patterns
- Evidence-based responsive feeding approaches
- Experience creating written, video, or structured educational content
What We Value
- Calm, non-fear-based guidance
- Respect for parental context and constraints
- Clear thinking over trends and fads
- Scientific integrity without being rigid
- Ability to say “we don’t know yet” where evidence is evolving
Engagement Model
- Flexible: Part-time / Contract / Advisory
- Remote-friendly
- Compensation aligned with experience and scope (per consult, monthly retainer, or project-based)
Who This Role Is Ideal For
- A pediatric nutritionist who wants impact at scale
- Someone who enjoys education and systems-thinking, not just 1-on-1 consults
- A professional who values early prevention over later correction
