Job Description
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented PD Merchandiser – Travel Accessories to manage the end-to-end product development and merchandising process for our travel and lifestyle product range.
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with vendors, developing new products, managing sampling, tracking trends, handling costing, and ensuring smooth product launches aligned with brand and market requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development
• Research market trends, materials, colors, and product innovations in luggage, bags, and travel accessories.
• Develop new product concepts in coordination with the design and sourcing teams.
• Coordinate sample development and ensure products meet brand standards for quality, aesthetics, and functionality.
• Work closely with factories and vendors for product execution and timely development.
Merchandising & Product Planning
• Manage product assortments and development trackers.
• Prepare and maintain costing sheets, line sheets, and product documentation.
• Ensure products are aligned with market trends, pricing strategy, and customer expectations.
• Monitor timelines from concept stage to final production and launch.
Vendor & Factory Coordination
• Coordinate with suppliers and factories for materials, trims, fittings, and production updates.
• Negotiate pricing, timelines, and quality standards with vendors.
• Follow up on sampling, approvals, corrections, and production readiness.
• Ensure timely communication between internal teams and external partners.
Coordination & Execution
• Work closely with marketing, e-commerce, and operations teams during product launches.
• Assist in packaging development, product shoot coordination, and launch planning.
• Maintain proper records and trackers for ongoing and upcoming product developments.
• Support smooth execution of product lifecycle activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Design, Merchandising, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in Product Development / Merchandising.
• Preferred industry exposure in:
- Luggage
- Bags
- Fashion Accessories
- Leather Goods
- Travel Accessories
- Export Houses
• Strong understanding of materials, trims, sourcing, and manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of vendor handling and sampling coordination.
• Proficiency in:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Photoshop
- MS Excel & MS Office
• Good communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
• Strong attention to detail and market awareness.
Preferred Profile
• Candidates from luggage, handbag, accessories, or fashion product brands preferred.
• Experience in OEM/ODM product development will be an added advantage.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
Position Summary
