Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in global payroll transformation, payroll operations, and payroll project management
- Manage overall payroll transformation delivery for 2–5 assigned markets within the global portfolio
- Lead stakeholder engagement, governance, risk management, and transformation planning activities
- Ensure alignment with global payroll transformation objectives and operating model standards
- Drive organizational change management and communication initiatives across impacted business functions
- Oversee program reporting, escalation management, and implementation governance processes
- Act as the functional payroll lead and market SME, proactively identifying and resolving market-specific risks and challenges
- Guide local payroll teams through transformation activities, ensuring successful milestone delivery
- Serve as the primary liaison between global design teams, payroll vendors, local operations, HR, and finance stakeholders
- Support payroll process modernization and system optimization initiatives
- Coordinate implementation activities across multiple markets while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Provide hands-on support for payroll operational issues during transition and stabilization phases
- Support day-to-day payroll processing activities to ensure business continuity and payroll accuracy
- Resolve payroll processing, configuration, and operational challenges impacting project delivery
- Assist with issue resolution during UAT, parallel runs, cutover, and post-go-live support phases
- Lead end-to-end payroll transformation and vendor transition initiatives across assigned markets
- Manage project plans, implementation timelines, RAID logs, market flight plans, dashboards, and reporting activities
- Ensure payroll readiness, compliance validation, and operational continuity throughout the implementation lifecycle
- Escalate risks related to payroll processing, compliance, data integrity, and operational readiness
- Lead the functional design and modernization of payroll processes and system configurations
- Configure and validate payroll processing rules for salaried, hourly, expatriate, and other employee groups
- Support multiple payroll frequencies including weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll cycles
- Validate payroll calculation logic including retroactive payments, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and statutory calculations
- Ensure payroll processes align with local labor laws, tax regulations, and international payroll standards
- Support home/host payroll setups and double taxation mitigation processes
- Manage payroll vendor onboarding, transition, and operational handover activities
- Collaborate with vendors on country-specific compliance requirements, payroll testing, and issue resolution
- Maintain strong stakeholder engagement across local, regional, and global teams
- Communicate technical and functional payroll concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Document and validate payroll data structures, field mappings, and migration requirements
- Support extraction, cleansing, reconciliation, and migration of payroll and employee data
- Validate payroll interfaces, GL mappings, tax configurations, retro calculations, and timekeeping integrations
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and audit compliance during migration and implementation activities
- Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, parallel runs, and reconciliation activities
- Support payroll cutover planning, go-live readiness assessments, and hypercare support
- Track defects and coordinate issue resolution to ensure payroll accuracy and operational stability
- Drive change management initiatives and support organizational adoption of new payroll systems and processes
- Conduct end-user training sessions and facilitate knowledge transfer activities
- Create and maintain SOPs, payroll processing documentation, and training materials
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency, automation, and operational scalability
- Optimize payroll calculation logic and processes to support evolving business and regulatory requirements
- Proactively mitigate migration risks including data inaccuracies, payroll processing failures, and compliance gaps
- Provide guidance and support to local Payroll Implementation Specialists and payroll operations teams
- Collaborate across functional, technical, and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Proven experience managing payroll vendor transitions, payroll system implementations, and operating model transformations
- Strong expertise in multi-country payroll processing, including complex markets and expatriate payroll environments
- Experience with shadow payroll, gross-ups, split payroll, and global mobility payroll processes
- Hands-on experience in payroll processing, payroll lifecycle management, and compliance activities
- Strong experience with payroll platforms such as Strada/Alight, SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, ADP, Ceridian, Oracle Payroll, or similar solutions
- Deep understanding of payroll data structures, payroll schemas, pay elements, interfaces, and integrations
- Experience with payroll data migration, configuration validation, reconciliation, and payroll testing activities
- Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar platforms
- Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications preferred for project management responsibilities
- Payroll certifications such as FPC, CPP, or payroll compliance training are advantageous
- Strong understanding of GDPR, statutory payroll regulations, and international payroll compliance requirements
- Experience supporting home/host payroll structures and double taxation mitigation processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global, regional, and local teams
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution capabilities
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and coordination skills
- Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure, and multi-time-zone environments
