Milling Foreman
Job Overview
The Milling Foreman is responsible for overseeing milling operations, ensuring quality standards are met, coordinating workflow, supervising personnel, and maintaining a safe working environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge in milling processes, and the ability to optimize production efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the milling crew.
- Monitor milling processes and equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
- Evaluate production output, identify issues, and recommend solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
- Train, mentor, and assess staff; ensure compliance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Work closely with other departments (maintenance, quality, logistics) to facilitate smooth operations.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in milling operations or a related manufacturing environment.
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of milling machinery, equipment, and production processes.
- Knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory standards applicable to milling.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or associate degree in industrial technology, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Proficiency in production management software or ERP systems.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
