Job Summary
The Patient Assistant is responsible for assisting patients safely and courteously from the hospital entrance, parking area, or roadside to the hospital reception or concerned department. The role includes ensuring patient safety while crossing roads, assisting with wheelchairs, opening vehicle doors, handling patients with care and respect, and properly handing over patients to the PRO or concerned staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients safely while crossing roads and entering/exiting hospital premises.
- Open and close vehicle doors for patients in a respectful and supportive manner.
- Provide wheelchair assistance whenever required.
- Help elderly, disabled, visually impaired, and weak patients move safely.
- Handle patients gently and with utmost care and compassion.
- Escort patients from vehicles or entrance areas to the reception, OP, or concerned department.
- Properly hand over patients to the PRO or designated hospital staff.
- Ensure wheelchairs are clean, available, and maintained properly.
- Coordinate with the PRO, reception, security, and nursing staff for smooth patient movement.
- Provide guidance and basic assistance to patients and bystanders within hospital premises.
- Maintain discipline, politeness, and professionalism at all times.
- Immediately report any emergency or patient safety issue to the concerned authority.
