Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Patent Associate role based in Bangalore Urban. The Patent Associate will be responsible for drafting and reviewing patent specifications, preparing and filing patent applications, and conducting patentability analyses for clients in technology-driven sectors. Day-to-day work will include collaborating with inventors and internal teams to capture technical innovations, performing legal and technical research, and advising on intellectual property strategies aligned with client business objectives. The role also involves managing patent prosecution workflows, tracking deadlines, coordinating with patent offices and external stakeholders, and supporting partners on complex IP matters. The Patent Associate will contribute to the development of best practices, knowledge resources, and client-focused IP solutions within the firm.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Patent Preparation and drafting clear, technically accurate patent specifications.
- Candidates should possess skills in handling Patent Applications, including filing, prosecution, and related documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in assessing Patentability, including prior art searches and analysis of inventive step and novelty.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Patent Law and broader Intellectual Property frameworks, including relevant statutes, rules, and case law.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Degree in law; a technical background in engineering, science, or technology-related fields is highly beneficial.
- Prior experience in patent practice, IP law firms, or in-house IP teams is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and legal concepts clearly, work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, and manage multiple matters and timelines.
