Summary/Objective:
The Accounting Clerk IV under general supervision, performs routine and non-routine accounting support duties in areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, payroll or credit and collection.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs specialized calculations, posting and accounting functions.
- Codes accounts payable invoices for proper account distribution.
- Checks prices, quantities and extensions, receives remittances, posts to proper accounts and prepares transmittal documents.
- Prepares and issues credit and debit memos.
- Creates, extends and issues bills and invoices from appropriate sales and shipping documents.
- Maintains expense report controls and accounts.
- Create periodic reports summarizing business and financial activities.
- Codes data for input to financial data processing system.
- Reconciles difficult report discrepancies and problems.
- At times will provide work leadership to others through assignment of work, monitoring of progress, review of results, orientation, and technical instruction.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-years’ experience of general accounting or bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with standard accounting application software.
- Experience with reading, writing, and performing non-routine mathematical/accounting operations.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Completion of some accounting coursework.

The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, twist and turn body. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds, as well as pushing or pulling items with a force of up to 5 pounds. Added stress could be a factor of this position.
This position does require the ability to perform under stress conditions and high-volume demands.
