Network Security Engineer
Years of Experience: 5-8 Years
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to architect, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will prioritize network segmentation, least privilege access, and high availability while ensuring that our systems are up-to-date with the latest security measures. This role involves deploying and managing email and web security solutions, leading threat detection and prevention initiatives, and implementing centralized security monitoring and management protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure network architectures that prioritize segmentation, least privilege, and availability.
- Deploy and manage DNS filtering, URL filtering, DMARC, anti-malware solutions, and block unnecessary file types at the email gateway.
- Lead the deployment and tuning of Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (NIDS/NIPS) and manage traffic filtering between network segments.
- Implement centralized security event alerting using SIEM solutions and manage AAA protocols.
- Utilize secure protocols (802.1X, WPA2 Enterprise+) and collect network flow logs for analysis and reporting.
- Manage network infrastructure securely using version-controlled infrastructure-as-code practices and secure protocols such as SSH and HTTPS.
- Stay updated with the latest security trends and technologies to ensure the network infrastructure remains secure and resilient.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of network operations.
Mandatory Skills:
- Proven experience in network security design and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of network segmentation and least privilege access principles.
- Experience with DNS filtering, URL filtering, DMARC, and anti-malware solutions.
- Hands-on experience with NIDS/NIPS deployment and tuning.
- Familiarity with SIEM solutions and centralized security monitoring.
- Proficient in using secure protocols (802.1X, WPA2 Enterprise+, SSH, HTTPS).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code practices and version control.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud security and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in network security or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
