Role Description The Partial Discharge Testing Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in New Delhi. This role involves planning and executing partial discharge tests on high-voltage equipment such as transformers, cables, switchgear, and generators using advanced diagnostic tools and instruments. The engineer will prepare and review test procedures, set up test equipment, perform measurements, analyze results, and document findings in clear technical reports. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with clients and internal teams, ensuring tests adhere to safety standards and industry regulations, and supporting troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for insulation defects and reliability issues. The role also includes maintaining test equipment, providing technical input for customized solutions, and contributing to continuous improvement of testing methodologies and processes.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in test engineering, including experience with Test Engineering and Testing for high-voltage electrical systems.
- Proficiency in planning and performing Test Execution, including developing and following detailed Test Cases for partial discharge assessments.
- Hands-on experience with Functional Testing of transformers, cables, switchgear, and related power equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
- Knowledge of partial discharge measurement techniques, insulation systems, and relevant IEC/IEEE standards.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, single-line diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Commitment to safety practices, ability to work on-site at substations and industrial facilities, and readiness for occasional travel.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
