PHARMACY SUPPORT
Pharmacy Support performs functions to obtain and process prescriptions to prepare the pharmacy fulfillment team to dispense and ship medications, while working within the limits of established policies.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide support to Pharmacists by entering prescription information and submitting claims for payment.
• Partner with Customer Service team to obtain required information for processing of prescriptions.
• Communicate by phone and email with facilities and prescribers to obtain proper authorizations and prescription details to refill prescriptions.
• Back up Pharmacy Billing and Customer Service departments as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
• Proven experience as a highly effective communicator with internal and external customers; includes listening, speaking, understanding, and writing in English.
• Excellent computer skills with proficiencies with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and pharmacy systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on assigned tasks or in a team setting while focused on detail, accuracy, and productivity.
• Ability to track and monitor progress of workflows to maintain timely delivery of medications. • Working knowledge of medical terminology, medication names, and pharmacy sig codes.
