Job Summary:

The Distribution Center Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all facility systems and material‑handling equipment. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance, supports facility upgrades, troubleshoots equipment issues, and partners closely with Operations, Safety, and ICQA to minimize downtime and maintain a safe, compliant, and high‑performing distribution environment.

 

Facility & Equipment Maintenance – 40%

 

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, Batching Systems kitting & pack-down machines forklifts, pallet jacks, dock equipment, racking, and other material‑handling systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to restore equipment functionality
  • Maintain building systems including lighting, plumbing, HVAC filters, doors, and general facility infrastructure
  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment or facility modifications
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and work orders

 

Safety & Compliance – 20%

 

  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety standards
  • Identify and report safety hazards, equipment risks, and facility deficiencies
  • Participate in safety audits, 5S routines, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support compliance with The Leader Safety Playbook and ISO‑14001 requirements
  • Assist with incident investigations and corrective action implementation

 

Operational Support – 20%

  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly to minimize operational disruption
  • Partner with Operations, ICQA, and leadership to ensure equipment readiness for daily production
  • Support root‑cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions
  • Assist with inventory control of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and tools
  • Provide technical support during peak periods, special projects, and facility transitions
  • Serve as back-up to Facilities & Fleet Program for building maintenance or related issues across North American Operations

 

Preventive Maintenance Program – 20%

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and document completion
  • Recommend improvements to PM frequency, scope, and parts usage
  • Monitor equipment performance trends and escalate concerns proactively
  • Support predictive maintenance initiatives and reliability improvements
  • Ensure PM compliance meets or exceeds internal standards and audit expectations
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures across operations
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for non-conformances
