Job Summary
The Assistant Paintshop Manager is responsible for supporting paintshop operations in heavy fabrication manufacturing activities. The role includes handling production planning, surface preparation, painting activities, manpower management, quality control, safety practices, and IMS standard follow-up to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support and monitor daily paintshop production activities to achieve production targets.
Handle surface preparation, blasting, primer coating, final painting, and finishing activities for fabricated components.
Ensure proper usage and maintenance of paintshop equipment such as paint booths, airless spray systems, compressors, and blasting machines.
Coordinate with production, quality, dispatch, and maintenance teams for smooth workflow.
Monitor paint consumption, material usage, wastage control, and inventory management.
Ensure painting quality standards such as DFT, adhesion, surface finish, and customer specifications are maintained.
Supervise manpower allocation, shift activities, and contractor workforce in the paintshop area.
Follow and implement IMS standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE usage, hazardous material handling, and environmental regulations.
Maintain paintshop documents, process records, checklists, inspection reports, and audit-related documents.
Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Participate in continuous improvement activities for productivity, quality, cost reduction, and process optimization.
Coordinate preventive maintenance activities for paintshop equipment and utilities.
Qualification
Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
