Role Description The Paint Prepper is responsible for preparing and refining visual assets for the Prep & Paint pipeline, ensuring that shots are ready for high-quality visual effects work. Day-to-day tasks include cleaning up plates, removing unwanted elements, fixing artifacts, and maintaining consistency across frames to support seamless compositing. The role involves close collaboration with artists and supervisors, following project guidelines, meeting production deadlines, and performing quality checks on completed work. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, working within a studio environment aligned with international film and TV production standards.
Qualifications
- Strong Paint and Painting skills relevant to visual effects workflows and digital asset cleanup.
- Experience with Body Shops and Collision-style repair concepts, applied to identifying and fixing visual defects in frames.
- Attention to detail and commitment to Quality Control to ensure clean, consistent, and production-ready output.
- Familiarity with industry-standard VFX/paint tools (e.g., Nuke, Photoshop, or similar applications) and basic understanding of VFX pipelines.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, work collaboratively in a team, and meet tight production deadlines.
- Relevant coursework or experience in visual effects, digital media, animation, or a related field; studio or production experience is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in Chennai and adapt to evolving tools and AI-powered workflows.
