Role Description The Paint and Prep Artist is a full-time, on-site role based in Kadapa, responsible for delivering clean, production-ready visual effects shots. This role involves wire and rig removal, dust and scratch cleanup, beauty and continuity fixes, and the creation of clean plates and background reconstructions. The Paint and Prep Artist will collaborate closely with rotoscope and compositing teams to ensure that prep work is accurate, efficient, and aligned with the creative brief. Daily tasks include reviewing plates, identifying technical and visual issues, executing pixel-level corrections, and maintaining shot consistency across sequences. The role also includes participating in internal reviews, adhering to pipeline standards, and meeting project deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong paint and prep skills, including wire/rig removal, dust and artifact cleanup, and clean plate generation.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with industry-standard VFX tools such as Nuke, Photoshop, and related paint/prep software.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of rotoscopy, compositing basics, and matchmove workflows to ensure seamless integration of prepared elements.
- Candidates should possess strong visual judgment in color, detail, and continuity, with attention to pixel-level accuracy and shot consistency.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to take feedback and work closely with cross-functional VFX teams.
- Candidates should possess strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple shots or sequences.
- Relevant experience in a VFX studio environment and familiarity with secure, pipeline-driven production workflows is highly beneficial.
- A diploma or degree in animation, VFX, graphic design, or a related field is preferred; a portfolio or showreel demonstrating paint and prep work is required.
