About the role

Position Summary
The Document Control Specialist will support the LGA Redevelopment program by maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant documentation and records across all project disciplines and functional areas. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience supporting complex capital programs, with a strong understanding of document control processes and digital platforms.
 

Key Responsibilities:
    Support the implementation and maintenance of program-wide document control protocols
    Assist with intake, processing, and distribution of controlled documents (RFIs, submittals, meeting notes, drawings, specs, etc.)
    Ensure accurate document naming, version control, and coding per project standards
    Track deliverables and support coordination of document reviews between internal teams and external stakeholders
    Prepare document control reports, logs, and transmittals
    Perform quality checks on document submissions for compliance with standards
    Support record retrievals for audits, reporting, or executive briefings
    Provide user assistance and troubleshooting within the project’s document management systems (e.g., SharePoint)
 

Required Qualifications:
    Minimum 5 years of document control or records management experience supporting infrastructure, construction, engineering, or public-sector capital projects
    Familiarity with aviation or transportation project environments is strongly preferred
    Experience with SharePoint and/or other EDMS platforms such as Aconex, ProjectWise, Procore, or Unifier
    Working knowledge of document control procedures, metadata tagging, and versioning
    Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
    Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
    Strong communication and organizational skills
 

Preferred:
    Prior experience supporting Port Authority of NY & NJ projects or similar public agency requirements
    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
    Understanding of FAA, NEPA, or aviation-related regulatory documentation (a plus)

Compensation
• The good-faith salary range for this position is $45-$50/hr based on experience, qualifications, technical expertise, client requirements, and company policy.
