Job Description: Packaging Technology Intern
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Packaging Technology Intern to join our team. This role is designed for a candidate who is passionate about the intersection of material science, food safety, and brand aesthetics. You will assist in the end-to-end development of packaging solutions, ensuring they meet rigorous shelf-life requirements, sustainability goals, and supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Research & Testing: Assist in evaluating various packaging materials (flexible laminates, mono-materials, glass, or sustainable alternatives) for their barrier properties against moisture, oxygen, and light.
- Shelf-Life Validation: Coordinate with the Quality and R&D teams to conduct accelerated and real-time shelf-life studies to ensure product integrity from production to consumption.
- Vendor Coordination: Support the procurement process by interacting with packaging vendors to source samples, review technical specifications, and ensure alignment with production timelines.
- Design & Prototype Support: Work closely with the design team to ensure that creative artwork translates accurately into technical dielines and print-ready formats.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Maintain documentation for FSSAI compliance and other regulatory standards related to food-grade packaging materials.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (Diploma/B.Tech/M.Tech) in Packaging Technology, Printing Technology, or Food Technologist.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with packaging machinery (Form-Fill-Seal, vacuum sealing), material science, and testing equipment (GSM testers, tensile strength testers, etc.).
- Software Proficiency: Basic understanding of CAD software or Adobe Illustrator (for dieline reviews) is a significant plus.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical data and translate it into actionable reports.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
