About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Packaging Development professional with strong exposure to packaging sourcing and development across multiple packaging materials. The candidate will be responsible for handling packaging development activities for new and existing products, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely execution of development projects.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of packaging materials along with hands-on experience in D2C/FMCG industries.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end packaging development for new product launches and existing product improvements.
- Source and develop packaging materials including bottles, tubes, jars, pumps, caps, labels, mono cartons, corrugated boxes, flexible packaging, laminates, etc.
- Coordinate with internal teams including Projects, Purchase, Production, QA/QC, and Marketing for packaging requirements and development activities.
- Work closely with vendors for sample development, costing, material selection, and commercialization.
- Conduct packaging trials and ensure smooth implementation at plant level.
- Identify alternate vendors and support cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure packaging quality, functionality, aesthetics, and compatibility with product requirements.
- Maintain packaging specifications, development records, artworks, and related documentation.
- Stay updated with market trends, packaging innovations, and sustainable packaging solutions.
Skills Required
- Strong experience in packaging sourcing and development from D2C/FMCG/Cosmetics/Personal Care industries.
- Good understanding of various packaging materials and manufacturing processes.
- Strong vendor coordination and commercial understanding.
- Ability to manage multiple development projects simultaneously.
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Hands-on and execution-focused approach.
Experience & Education
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in packaging development and sourcing.
- Graduation/Diploma in Packaging Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- IIP qualification will be an added advantage.
