Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Packaging Engineer to design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions aligned with performance, cost, and sustainability goals. This role will work closely with cross functional teams including production, quality, procurement, and sales to ensure packaging meets customer requirements and regulatory standards while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities (Roles & Responsibilities)
Packaging Design & Development
- Design and develop primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging solutions.
- Evaluate materials (corrugated, flexible, films, tapes, etc.) for performance, durability, and cost.
- Create prototypes and conduct testing for validation.
Process Optimization
- Improve packaging processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and scalability of designs.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
Sustainability & Innovation
- Develop eco-friendly and sustainable packaging alternatives.
- Drive initiatives to reduce plastic usage and carbon footprint.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and regulatory changes.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Conduct packaging performance tests.
- Ensure packaging meets quality standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
- Work with QA teams to resolve packaging-related issues.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales and business development to understand customer requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement for material sourcing and vendor evaluation.
- Support production during new product launches and trials.
Costing & Analysis
- Perform cost analysis for packaging materials and processes.
- Optimize designs to balance cost, performance, and sustainability.
- Support pricing inputs for new packaging solutions.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain technical documentation, specifications, and drawings.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications.
- Support audits and regulatory documentation.

- Proven track record in packaging innovation and cost optimization.
