Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role as a Packaging Development Officer based in Mumbai. Responsibilities include developing and designing packaging solutions for pharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on packaging innovations. The officer will oversee vendor coordination, conduct research for new packaging materials and technologies, and ensure cost-efficient and sustainable packaging strategies are implemented.
- Oversee and manage packaging development process, including the design creation (artwork), performance and functionality testing and specifications of packages sourced.
- Preparation of new artworks for primary, secondary & tertiary packaging materials of new project development.
- Preparation of specification & testing procedures for primary, secondary & tertiary packaging materials of new project development.
- Maintaining the artwork database (artwork codes, artwork masters etc.) for existing products as well as new development products (Creation of master database).
- Maintain data base of specification of packages.
- Co-ordination & Execution of domestic as well as export artworks.
- Check Artworks Print proofs and Coordinate with Purchase department.
- Handling Samples for New Development of Products for Country Registration.
- To Coordinate with other departments viz. Business Development, R&D, Demand Planning, Marketing, Purchase, Manufacturing site, QA & QC for smooth execution of projects.
- To Check and Approve Shade card in all respects i.e. Text, Color, Dimension, Barcode, Pharma code, Braille etc.
- Online Printing Validation & Approval for Printing Packaging Materials.
- Understand customers packaging requirements and best practices in the market.
- Keep track of internal and global safety and transportation regulations for packaging considerations.
- Establish standards and guidelines for packaging supplier's evaluation and conduct quality and safety assessments.
- Fulfil transportation rules and regulations for packaging and comply regulatory requirements.
- Optimize packaging cost through: rationalization of number of packages used, considering the right design for transportation, handling in manufacturing and operations.
