Description

The Center for Student Engagement and Student Government Association (SGA) at Pace University is seeking to hire a Student Organization Operations Intern. The Student Organization Operations Intern is a part-time graduate internship position reporting directly to the Associate Director for student organizations, fraternity and sorority life, and leadership. They will also execute student organization operations directed by SGA. The Student Organization Operations Intern would serve as the primary resource in support and direction of our student organization operations that include but are not limited to the following: new student organization operations, student organization advisement, student organization training, and leadership development for student organizations and the general campus undergraduate population.

Position Duties

  • Attend Student Government Association (SGA) general body meetings to meet with SGA Executive Board, Senators and Student Org. Executive Officers.
  • Facilitate sessions and manage communications for the New Student Organization (NSO) process.
  • Track attendance and completion for continuation through the NSO process and communicate effectively with the participants at each step.
  • Assist in staffing the student organization retreat in the fall semester.
  • Assist in planning and staffing the Setter CORE Workshop Nights in spring semester.
  • Assist in updating the Setter CORE online module content.
  • Submit up to date information for the NewLEADer on a weekly basis.
  • Create and distribute important reminders to student org leaders throughout the year.
  • Conduct a bi-weekly assessment and cleanup of the student org storage closet.
  • Assist in coordinating Minor Events for the Center for Student Engagement.
  • Plan and facilitate leadership workshops for student organization leaders and the undergraduate student body.
  • Assist with a heavy volume of phone calls.
  • Support the Office in all university related programs and functions.
  • General clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, shredding, sending faxes, and other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.     

 

Work Hours

Exact hours to be determined with supervisor; generally up to 20 hours per week.
