Plant & Machinery Management
- Plan and manage deployment of construction equipment and machinery as per project schedules.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of equipment such as cranes, hydras, excavators, loaders, forklifts, DG sets, and lifting tools.
- Monitor machine productivity and utilization to minimize idle time.
Operation, Maintenance & Safety
- Ensure safe operation of all plant and machinery in line with manufacturer guidelines and site safety norms.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and servicing of equipment.
- Ensure statutory certifications, fitness, and third-party inspections are valid and up to date.
Coordination & Site Support
- Coordinate with construction, planning, and site execution teams to meet equipment requirements.
- Liaise with vendors, rental agencies, and service providers for equipment hiring and repairs.
- Support mobilization and demobilization of equipment across project sites.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records of equipment logs, utilization reports, maintenance history, and breakdown records.
- Prepare daily and monthly P&M utilization reports and submit to project management.
- Track fuel consumption and equipment operating costs.
Cost Control & Optimization
- Monitor and control equipment hire costs, fuel usage, and maintenance expenses.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization through efficient deployment and planning.
Compliance & Inspection
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety regulations, and company policies for P&M operations.
- Coordinate periodic inspections and audits related to plant and machinery.
Team & Operator Management
- Coordinate with machine operators and drivers to ensure skilled and authorized operation.
- Monitor operator performance and ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5–8 years of experience in Plant & Machinery management, preferably in EPC, solar, or infrastructure projects.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction equipment and machinery.
- Equipment planning, utilization, and cost control.
- Vendor coordination and negotiation.
- Awareness of safety and statutory compliance.
