About The Role
We are looking for a Test Engineer to elevate our software quality to the next level. As a member of our technology team, you will work daily with our world-class engineers. You will think broadly to create and execute test plans that ensure our products meet the highest standards. You will apply your engineering logic and keen attention to detail to solve some of the most demanding technical challenges in the industry. You will have the freedom to design and implement your testing strategies with some of the brightest minds in the space.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning and Execution: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for our software products, ensuring that they meet the highest quality standards. This includes functional, regression, and performance testing.
- P&ID Documentation Review: Work closely with P&ID technical documentation to create relevant and accurate test cases. Ensure that all aspects of the engineering design are tested and validated.
- Defect Identification and Management: Identify, document, and track software defects using defect management tools. Work with developers to reproduce and resolve issues, ensuring timely fixes and improvements.
- Desktop Application Testing: Focus on testing desktop applications, ensuring they function correctly across various platforms and environments. Validate that the software meets user requirements and performs well under different conditions.
- SDLC Integration: Integrate testing processes into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring that testing is an integral part of the development and deployment process.
- Tool Utilization: Utilize test design tools to create efficient and effective test cases. Employ defect management tools to track and report issues, providing clear and actionable feedback to the development team.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek to improve testing processes, methodologies, and tools. Stay up to date with the latest testing trends and technologies to enhance testing effectiveness and efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to understand requirements, discuss testing strategies, and ensure alignment on quality goals.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results. Provide clear and concise reports to the team, highlight areas of concern, and recommend improvements. Automation: Where applicable, identify opportunities for test automation to increase testing efficiency and coverage. Collaborate with the development team to implement automated tests as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
- Problem-Solving: Apply strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes of defects and propose solutions. Analyze test results to identify trends and prevent recurring issues. Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior team members and share knowledge and best practices within the team. Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Global Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a globally distributed remote team, communicating effectively across time zones and cultural differences. Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the team.
Required Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Test Engineer, Process Engineer, Plant Maintainer, or in a similar role.
- Documentation: Experience working with P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) technical documentation.
- Industry Experience: Experience in engineering fields such as Oil & Gas or Automation.
- Test Design: Knowledge of test design and defect management tools.
- Desktop Applications: Experience in testing desktop applications.
- Test Case Creation: Ability to create detailed test cases.
- SDLC Knowledge: Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated problem-solving capability.
- Learning Orientation: A desire to learn and continuously improve technical skills.
- Global Collaboration: Ability to work within a globally distributed remote team.
- Language Proficiency: At least a B2 English level.
Preferred Skills
- Graph Theory: Advanced knowledge of graph theory.
- TestMo: Experience using TestMo.
- CAD Diagrams: Ability to read and create CAD diagrams.
- Startup Experience: Previous experience in a startup environment.
- Certification: ISTQB certification
