About the role

This is a 12-month mandate in Bolgatanga, Ghana. The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in in about ten countries in Africa, Latin America, and Middle East over an eight-year period (2020-2028). The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam's role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does. Here's what your daily life will look like: In close collaboration with the Oxfam team members, the advisor will contribute to: Develop a comprehensive MEAL framework that aligns with the strategic plan and projects of the Widows and Orphans Movement (WOM) Assist and provide capacity support to WOM's staff on the MEAL framework and its use Establish a MEAL team to ensure its effective implementation and monitoring Help conduct a scoping study to find what MEAL solution will be relevant in addressing the organization's programs and projects Prepare activity reports, quarterly and annual reports on interventions For this mandate you must: Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada Possess a university degree in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, or other relevant fields Have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience related to this mandate Have experience in using MEAL software and data analysis Be experienced with capacity building and training Be fluent in English, spoken and written (required) Master the Microsoft Office Suite
