Company Description Virtual Mediation Advocacy Competition (VMAC) is a practice-oriented initiative focused on recognising and evaluating mediation advocacy as a core legal skill. As mediation becomes increasingly central to dispute resolution, VMAC addresses the gap between traditional legal training and modern practice by offering realistic commercial dispute scenarios. The competition provides a structured platform for participants to develop client counselling, strategic negotiation, and settlement design capabilities. With a multi-stage format and evaluation by experienced mediation professionals, VMAC reflects contemporary dispute resolution demands and promotes resolution-oriented advocacy. VMAC aims to help shape future legal professionals who are equipped to both advocate and effectively resolve disputes.
Role Description The Owner of VMAC is responsible for overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight of the competition. This full-time on-site role, based in Nashik, involves designing and refining competition formats, supervising event planning and scheduling, and managing relationships with mediation professionals, institutions, and sponsors. The Owner oversees marketing and outreach to universities, law firms, and professional bodies, ensuring strong participation and high-quality engagement. Daily tasks include coordinating with internal teams and external partners, managing budgets, setting quality standards for assessments, and ensuring that VMAC’s mission and objectives are consistently met. The role also includes continuous improvement of participant experience, compliance with relevant regulations, and representation of VMAC at conferences, events, and stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications
- Strong background in dispute resolution, mediation advocacy, or legal education, with the ability to design and evaluate practice-oriented learning experiences.
- Experience in program or event management, including planning multi-stage competitions, handling logistics, and coordinating diverse stakeholders.
