Role Description The Owner at URI-MU is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Bengaluru, responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operations, and growth of the initiative. This role includes setting organizational goals, designing and supervising research programs, workshops, and events, and ensuring alignment with the mission of supporting undergraduate researchers. The Owner will coordinate with university stakeholders, faculty mentors, and student leaders, manage budgets and resources, and maintain effective governance and documentation. Day-to-day tasks involve monitoring project progress, supporting student teams, fostering partnerships with external organizations, and promoting a culture of academic integrity, inclusivity, and innovation. The role also requires continuous evaluation of programs and initiatives to improve impact, sustainability, and student engagement.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational management skills, including strategic planning, team coordination, and decision-making.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, faculty, and external partners, and for representing URI-MU in academic and professional forums.
- Experience with academic or research program development, including designing workshops, seminars, and mentorship activities.
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines, with attention to detail and a focus on operational efficiency.
- Background in higher education, research administration, or student organizations is highly beneficial.
- Commitment to student empowerment, inclusive practices, and fostering a vibrant research culture.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant academic field; advanced research experience or published work is an advantage.
- Capability to work on-site in Bengaluru full time and to adapt to a dynamic, student-centered environment.
