Role Description
The Investment Banking Analyst / Graduate Finance Program is responsible for supporting financial analysis, transaction execution, and strategic advisory activities while developing expertise in investment banking, corporate finance, and capital markets. This role contributes to financial projects by conducting research, building analytical models, and preparing high-quality materials that support business and investment decisions.
Key responsibilities include conducting financial statement analysis, company research, industry analysis, market intelligence, and competitive benchmarking to evaluate business performance and investment opportunities. The role develops financial models, valuation analyses, forecasting models, and scenario analyses to support mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, corporate finance, and strategic advisory engagements.
The position prepares pitch books, investment presentations, transaction materials, management reports, and executive summaries that clearly communicate financial findings and strategic recommendations. It also supports due diligence by reviewing financial information, organizing documentation, identifying potential risks, and assisting with transaction execution throughout the project lifecycle.
The role monitors capital markets, economic developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends to provide timely market insights and support informed decision-making. It collaborates with finance professionals, business leaders, legal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver accurate analysis and maintain high standards of quality across financial projects.
As part of a graduate finance development pathway, the role participates in structured learning, technical training, mentorship, and cross-functional assignments to strengthen analytical capabilities, commercial awareness, and professional expertise in investment banking and financial services.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of corporate finance, investment banking, financial analysis, valuation methodologies, capital markets, financial statement analysis, and financial modeling principles.
Proficiency in spreadsheet applications, financial modeling, presentation software, financial databases, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms. Familiarity with data visualization tools and financial analytics software is an advantage.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate financial data, perform valuation analyses, identify investment opportunities, and support strategic business decisions.
Knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financing, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, comparable company analysis, due diligence, financial forecasting, portfolio analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional reports, investment presentations, financial documentation, and executive summaries for diverse stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, adaptability, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and results-oriented financial environment.
