Role Description The Overseas Education Counselor will provide guidance to students seeking admission to international universities and colleges, including program selection, country options, and application planning. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, explaining admission criteria, supporting students with application documentation, and coordinating with institutions and internal teams. The role involves assisting with test preparation guidance, visa process awareness, and timelines, while maintaining accurate records of student interactions and progress. The counselor will also participate in seminars, student events, and outreach activities, and contribute to marketing and informational content related to study-abroad opportunities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong counseling and advisory skills, with the ability to understand student aspirations and provide clear, accurate guidance on study-abroad options.
- Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proficiency in English (spoken and written) and the ability to interact effectively with students, families, and institutional representatives.
- Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail for handling applications, documentation, and timelines.
- Candidates should possess basic knowledge of international education systems, admission processes, and visa-related procedures, or a strong willingness to learn these areas quickly.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in using computers and common office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentations, CRM or student management systems).
- A bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required; a background in education, counseling, management, or related fields is preferred.
- Prior experience in overseas education counseling, student advisory services, or customer-facing roles in education or services sectors will be an advantage.
- Candidates should demonstrate a professional, ethical approach, the ability to work collaboratively with team members, and a commitment to supporting diverse students without bias.
