This on-site role supports fast-paced surgical teams and emphasizes clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating theatre: perform sterile setup, verify equipment functionality, and ensure availability of instruments and disposables before each case.
- Serve as scrub or circulating nurse during procedures: anticipate surgeon needs, manage instrument transfer, and preserve the sterile field throughout surgery.
- Monitor intraoperative patient status and vital signs; communicate deviations promptly and assist the anesthesia team with required interventions.
- Execute accurate surgical counts, time-outs, and perioperative documentation to support patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Implement infection control and sterilization practices, including correct donning/doffing, aseptic technique, and safe handling of specimens and waste.
- Support efficient theatre turnaround: assist with post-operative handover, instrument decontamination, restocking, and preparing the suite for subsequent cases.
