Role Description The Orthopedics Consultant will provide comprehensive orthopedic care, including outpatient consultations, inpatient management, and emergency trauma services. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, performing elective and emergency orthopedic surgeries, and developing evidence-based treatment plans. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams such as anesthesia, physiotherapy, nursing, and radiology to ensure coordinated patient care. The consultant will review imaging and diagnostic reports, conduct pre- and post-operative assessments, and maintain accurate medical records and documentation. Additional responsibilities include participating in clinical case discussions, mentoring junior medical staff where applicable, and supporting quality and safety initiatives within the department. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sanchore. The surgeon will have almost 3-6 THRs per month and 2-4 TKRs per month along with multiple Arthroscopy cases.
Qualifications
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and completed postgraduate qualification in Orthopedics (e.g., MS/DNB Orthopedics or equivalent).
- Valid medical registration/licensure with the relevant medical council, eligible to practice as an orthopedic specialist.
- Strong clinical expertise in diagnosing and managing fractures, joint disorders, spine and sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
- Proficiency in elective and emergency orthopedic surgical procedures, including pre-operative planning and post-operative care.
- Ability to interpret X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and other diagnostic studies relevant to orthopedic practice.
- Effective communication and counseling skills for engaging with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical audits, and adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle a high-volume clinical workload.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties, trauma coverage, and emergency care as required.
- Experience in a trauma center or high-acuity orthopedic setting is an advantage.
- Interest in continuous learning, attending CMEs, and staying current with advances in orthopedic care.
Salary
