Summary: Assemble, modify and install aircraft structural assemblies, sub-assemblies, and structures on aircraft systems.
Responsibilities - Level 2:
Perform responsibilities associated with a Level 1 Inspector as well as the following:
* Perform responsibilities associated with a Level 1 Mechanic and also the following.
* Join sub-assemblies such as fairings and the mating of major assembly callouts, butt, station and water lines; blind pick up of hole locations for blank parts from existing structure.
* Perform repairs and rework, without direct supervision, for issues which require MRB (Material Review Board) instructions or approval.
* Self-inspect work in accordance with Customer Specifications using Calibrated Precision Measuring Devices (i.e.: Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, etc.)
* Correct imperfections, such as skin canning conditions, buckles, wrinkles in outer skins and remove surface defects as assigned.
* Shim, fit, trim and align structural assemblies and sub-assemblies using custom made shims.
* Perform final check to ensure all assemblies and detail parts are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and non-conformance issues.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in implementation of process improvements. Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to safety officials or manufacturing supervision.
Qualifications - Level 2:
Must meet all the education, experience and skills of a Level 1 Assembler as well as the following:
* Must be able to “Self-Inspect” using Calibrated Measuring Devices.
* Must have demonstrated ability to perform rework and repairs requiring MRB
* Must have demonstrated ability to complete Level 1 assembly without error requiring MRB for 6 months.
* Must be certified Mechanic Verification Process (MVP)
* Must have demonstrated ability to maintain production schedule, Earned Standard Hour objectives, and production goals.
