Auckland and Christchurch Summer Internships: Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer Intern, you won’t be working on a side project – you’ll be embedded in a real product team from day one, contributing code to real solutions that make a difference around the world.

• Dive into real product teams in Auckland or Christchurch, working on production code and delivering features from the ground up
• Tackle meaningful tasks across platforms implemented at sites all around the world

What You’ll Bring To The Table

Experience or familiarity with:

• Java
• HTML/CSS and JavaScript
• React, Angular, or other mobile/web frameworks
• AWS or Azure cloud services
• Linux and Bash scripting

Education:

You’ll be studying, or have recently completed, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

Here's what to expect on your journey to becoming a Software Engineer Intern at Orion Health:

• Apply online: Submit your CV and share any project work, GitHub links, or examples that show off your passion for coding and problem-solving.
• Online coding challenge: If your application progresses, you'll complete a short technical challenge - it's your chance to demonstrate how you approach and tackle real engineering problems.
• Assessment Centre (Auckland only): If you're based in Auckland or can attend in person, you'll be invited to our Assessment Centre - a fun, fast-paced day full of insight and interaction. You'll:
• Hear directly from Orion Health leaders about our products and impact
• Rotate through speed interviews with multiple teams
• Take part in mind-bending, team-based games designed to showcase your collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking
• Get a genuine feel for our culture, tech, and people
• Meet the team: If you're successful after the assessment centre (or directly after the coding challenge for Christchurch applicants), you'll be invited to a deeper technical interview. We'll chat about your projects, interests, and future goals - and you'll get to meet the team you may be working with.
