Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Facilitates didactic lectures, workshops, educational resident groups, and resident community meetings.
- Recognizes, prevents, and responds to situations in which a resident may be a danger to self or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, may be experiencing a crisis or may be experiencing a medical emergency.
- Reads, interprets, and implements client’s treatment plan.
- Coordinates recreational and social activities for residents within the milieu.
- Provides support and encouragement to residents, demonstrating warmth, empathy, and genuineness.
- Conducts luggage searches and room searches as necessary for safety.
- Attends and participates in treatment team meetings and MDS as requested.
- Maintains accurate and timely charting in the EMR system.
- Assists with any resident assignments as directed.
JOB SKILLS AND ABILITY
- Knowledge of resident rights and provision of treatment that promotes resident dignity, independence, individuality, strengths, privacy, and choice.
- Able to meet the unique needs of our resident population, taking into consideration diagnosis and trauma informed care.
- Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with residents.
- Ability to communicate effectively, using non-judgmental words and behaviors, using person-centered language, and engages in active and reflective listening.
- Recognizes, respects, and adapts to diversity, differences, and cultural traditions of residents.
- Knowledge and application of confidentiality requirements and HIPAA.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience in behavioral health preferred.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:
- Current Fingerprint Clearance
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Clear TB screening
- Valid Driver’s License
