About the role: ETRM-IT (Energy Trading Risk Management) is an area of the business that is responsible for the on-going development of a custom-built software that allows Origin's asset portfolio to make prompt, correct and robust interactions with the energy markets for which Origin participates in. This role will join a high performing team of 2-3 squads that consists of developers, testers business analyst and Delivery Manager to provide ongoing support and maintenance Roles & Responsibilities Own end-to-end technical solutions, including design, in-depth code-level analysis, development, testing, and deployment of ETRM IT systems across cloud and on-prem environments. Deliver expert 2nd and 3rd level application support, driving automation to reduce manual processes and improve system reliability in line with service level agreements. Design, develop, and implement advanced enhancements and technical solutions that strengthen and modernise both on-premise and cloud-based platforms. Collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders, clearly communicating technical approaches, timelines, and progress to ensure alignment and business impact. Drive continuous improvement by proactively identifying opportunities to optimise systems, streamline processes, and enhance documentation and operational practices. Build trusted partnerships across teams, promoting a responsive, high-performance service culture that supports Origin's dynamic business environment. Skills & Requirements Demonstrated experience developing applications using the Microsoft .NET framework, with strong expertise in C# and related technologies. Demonstrated experience working with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), ideally including serverless technologies such as Lambda. Advanced SQL skills and experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database design and optimisation. Deep understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and modern engineering methodologies. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions. Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement, with a willingness to participate in an after-hours support roster.
