About The Role
Seeking a Senior Specialist with 7 to 11 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration specializing in Oracle Cloud Services, Oracle RAC, RMAN, GoldenGate, and overall Oracle DB Administration to manage and optimize enterprise database environments. The successful candidate will lead critical database operations, ensure high availability, security, and performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise-wide IT initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, capable of handling complex cloud and on-premises Oracle database environments. The Senior Specialist will also mentor junior team members and drive automation efforts to streamline database management processes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration is required, with proven expertise in Oracle Cloud Services, Oracle RAC, RMAN, and GoldenGate. Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) are highly desirable. Strong knowledge of database security, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies is essential. Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and effective communication skills are also important for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage Oracle database administration activities across both cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. Design, implement, and support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services, including migration projects, assessment, and validation. Administer and optimize Oracle RAC configurations to provide fault tolerance, load balancing, and high availability. Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies utilizing Oracle RMAN and GoldenGate for data replication and disaster recovery. Monitor database performance continuously, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning measures to enhance system efficiency. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, including data encryption, access controls, and audit trails. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Oracle database solutions with cloud infrastructure and enterprise applications. Mentor and guide junior DBAs, sharing best practices and advanced Oracle features. Automate routine database tasks through scripting and automation tools to improve operational efficiency. Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical incidents, ensuring minimal downtime. Work closely with Oracle support and cloud teams to resolve issues promptly and optimize database environments.
