About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Database Administrator to join Applaud, supporting the reliability, performance, and security of our Oracle EBS R12.2 environments.
In this hands-on role, you’ll take ownership of environment lifecycle management, patching, performance optimisation, and operational stability across development, test, and production systems. You’ll also support Applaud’s on-premise product built on Oracle E-Business Suite, working across internal and client environments.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working on complex enterprise systems, takes pride in operational excellence, and brings a proactive, automation-minded approach to system reliability.

What you’ll be doing
- Administer and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 environments across multiple tiers
- Perform EBS installations, cloning, patching, and upgrades using best practices
- Manage the online patching (ADOP) lifecycle and environment synchronisation
- Monitor and optimise database and application performance
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Ensure environment security, patch compliance, and system hardening
- Support development and QA teams with environment provisioning and troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve production incidents across database and application tiers
- Automate routine DBA and environment maintenance tasks where possible
- Maintain clear system documentation and operational procedures
- Perform Applaud on-premise product patching and support issue resolution
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years’ experience as an Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) DBA
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle EBS R12.2
- Experience with installation, patching, cloning, and ADOP online patching
- Oracle Database 19c (or later) administration experience
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills with performance tuning experience
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments
- Linux system administration experience (RHEL / Oracle Linux)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and an operational, ownership-driven mindset
