About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator / Developer specialized in Oracle APEX to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. This full-time position involves managing and optimizing Oracle database environments hosted on Windows Server platforms, alongside developing and maintaining applications using Oracle APEX. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in database administration and application development, supporting critical business systems and ensuring their optimal performance, security, and reliability. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements. Flexibility to work in different time zones and adapt to shifting project priorities is essential. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a challenging environment with cutting-edge technologies, contributing significantly to enterprise-level projects.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in Oracle Database Administration and Application Development. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience working with Oracle databases and PL/SQL. Certifications such as OCP or Oracle APEX Specialist are highly desirable. Hands-on experience with Oracle APEX development, including designing, developing, and maintaining applications, is essential. The candidate should have a solid understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle networking components such as listeners and TNS, and experience managing database backup, recovery, and performance tuning. Familiarity with Windows Server administration, including managing services, scheduled tasks, and system monitoring, is also necessary. Knowledge of Oracle 19c or later versions, Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS), and deployment on Windows platforms will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including:
- Installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining Oracle Database instances on Windows Server environments.
- Administering Oracle services, listeners, and scheduled jobs to ensure high availability and performance.
- Monitoring database performance, capacity planning, and ensuring system availability.
- Performing regular backup and recovery operations using RMAN, along with disaster recovery planning to safeguard data integrity.
- Managing database security by creating and maintaining user roles, profiles, and implementing security best practices.
- Troubleshooting and resolving database and Windows-related issues promptly.
- Applying patches, updates, and security fixes to Oracle Database and related components.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining applications using Oracle APEX, including creating user interfaces, reports, and dashboards.
- Optimizing SQL and PL/SQL code to improve performance and scalability of applications.
- Implementing authentication, authorization, and security controls within APEX applications.
- Integrating APEX applications with external systems and RESTful services for seamless data exchange.
- Maintaining existing Oracle-based applications and implementing enhancements based on evolving business needs.
- Collaborating with infrastructure teams to coordinate server maintenance, upgrades, and system monitoring.
- Participating in requirements gathering, translating business needs into technical solutions, and providing comprehensive documentation.
- Supporting production environments, troubleshooting incidents, and ensuring minimal downtime.
