Job Description
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Proven experience as an Oracle DBA with in-depth knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate replication, AVDF auditing and firewall controls, and Oracle Database Vault security, supporting Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c) in both on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Strong experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and cloud-based database services.
- Skills:
- Expert knowledge in database tuning, backup, recovery, security, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), RMAN, and SQL*Plus.
- Proficient in cloud architecture and services related to Oracle Cloud.
- Familiarity with cloud-native tools like Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Exadata Cloud Service.
- Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, etc.) for automation and management.
- In-depth understanding of database replication, clustering, and high availability configurations.
- Experience with performance monitoring and tuning using tools like AWR, ADDM, and ASH.
- Certifications:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is highly preferred.
- Oracle Cloud certification is a plus (OCI Architect or Oracle Autonomous Database certification).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Academics : B.Tech/B.E./MCA/M.Sc
- Experience in Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Data Guard configuration and management.
- Experience with migration strategies from on-premises Oracle environments to Oracle Cloud.
- Experience in Oracle Cloud networking and security best practices.
Responsibilities
Core Oracle DBA
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c, 21c).
- Perform database administration, performance tuning, backup & recovery (RMAN).
- Manage Data Guard, RAC, and HA/DR environments.
- Monitor database health, capacity, and availability.
- Handle production issues, root cause analysis, and preventive measures.
Oracle GoldenGate
- Design, implement, and support Oracle GoldenGate for real-time replication.
- Configure uni-/bi-directional replication across heterogeneous environments.
- Monitor replication lag, troubleshoot failures, and ensure data consistency.
- Perform GoldenGate upgrades, patching, and migrations.
- Support zero/near-zero downtime migrations.
Oracle AVDF (Audit Vault & Database Firewall)
- Design, deploy, and administer Oracle AVDF environments.
- Configure audit policies, alerts, reports, and database activity monitoring.
- Implement Database Firewall rules to detect and prevent unauthorized access.
- Support regulatory compliance (SOX, PCI-DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Integrate AVDF with enterprise SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, etc.).
Oracle Database Vault
- Implement and manage Oracle Database Vault realms, command rules, and factors.
- Enforce separation of duties (SoD) and least-privilege access.
- Secure privileged accounts (SYS, DBA, application schemas).
- Work with application teams to onboard databases into DB Vault safely.
- Perform DB Vault upgrades, patching, and policy tuning.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Deploy and manage Oracle databases on OCI (VM DB Systems, Bare Metal, Exadata Cloud Service).
- Support OCI database migrations, upgrades, and DR setups.
- Implement OCI security best practices (encryption, IAM, logging, monitoring).
- Optimize cost, performance, and availability in OCI environments.
