Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Oracle Database Administrator based in Bhilai, Chattisgarh The primary responsibilities include managing Oracle database systems, ensuring optimal performance, and implementing database replication strategies. The role also involves troubleshooting issues, maintaining database security, performing upgrades and patches, and collaborating with teams to support the organization's data infrastructure needs.
Job Description● Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle database environments (Oracle 19c or similar)
● Perform database performance tuning using query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis
● Handle database backup and recovery using RMAN to ensure data safety and availability
● Create and manage database objects such as tables, indexes, schemas, and views
● Develop and support PL/SQL objects like procedures, functions, packages, and triggers
● Manage user access, roles, and security (RBAC) to ensure data protection
● Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain system stability
● Support data migration, ETL processes, and data validation activities
● Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting (Unix/Linux)
● Work closely with developers, QA, and other teams for deployments and support
Required Skills● Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration (installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance)
● Good experience with Oracle 19c (or similar versions) and handling production databases
● Proficiency in PL/SQL development – writing procedures, functions, packages, and triggers
● Strong knowledge of Advanced SQL – joins, subqueries, indexing, and query optimization
● Experience in database performance tuning using execution plans and troubleshooting slow queries
● Hands-on experience in backup & recovery using RMAN
● Knowledge of database security – user management, roles, privileges, and access control (RBAC)
● Familiarity with Unix/Linux environment and basic shell scripting for automation
● Understanding of ETL processes, data migration, and data validation techniques.
Ability to monitor database health, identify issues, and resolve them efficiently
