About the role
The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the overall health, performance and security of the Oracle database environment. This includes database design, configuration, optimization, and ongoing maintenance. The DBA will work closely with application teams to ensure that the database infrastructure meets their needs and supports the business objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the Oracle database environment
- Optimize database configurations and tune SQL queries to improve performance
- Implement and maintain database security and access controls
- Automate routine database maintenance tasks
- Work with application teams to design and implement database solutions
- Provide on-call support and resolve production issues
- Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning
- Document database processes and standards
