As an Oracle Cloud SCM Consultant, you will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and optimizing Oracle Cloud Supply Chain Management (SCM) solutions (Inventory, Costing, Maintenance, Order Management, Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Global Order Promising, & Product Data Hub). Your primary focus will be on helping clients enhance their supply chain processes using Oracle Cloud SCM technology.
Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and supply chain processes. Analyze functional and technical requirements for Oracle Cloud SCM implementation.
Responsibilities
Design and configure Oracle Cloud SCM modules, with focus on Inventory, Costing, Maintenance, and Order Management. Expected experience for the following:
Inventory
- Inventory Organizations: Knowledge of setting up inventory organizations, locations, and sub-inventories, including defining different inventory organization types (distribution center, manufacturing plant, etc.) based on business requirements.
- Catalogs and Items: Familiarity with configuring item master catalogs, creating items, and assigning attributes such as lot/serial control, expiration, and unit of measure.
- Understanding item templates and categories is also essential.
- Inventory Transactions: Ability to configure various inventory transaction types, including inter-organization and intra-organization transfers, cycle counting, physical inventory, and miscellaneous transactions. Understanding transaction setup for different movement types within and across locations is crucial.
- Costing Methods: Knowledge of setting up different costing methods (e.g., Standard, Actual, and Average costing) based on inventory valuation requirements, as well as configuring cost profiles and cost elements.
- Supply Chain Orchestration: Understanding the integration between Oracle Cloud Inventory and Supply Chain Orchestration to automate supply chain processes, especially for transfer orders and back-to-back orders.
- Replenishment Planning: Experience with inventory replenishment configurations, including min-max planning, reorder points, safety stock levels, and integrating with demand and supply planning systems.
- Inventory Transactions Approval and Controls: Familiarity with setting up approvals and controls for inventory transactions, especially for high-value transactions or restricted items.
- Integrations: Understanding integrations with other Oracle Cloud modules (like Procurement, Order Management, and Manufacturing) and with third-party systems for seamless data flow and transaction management.
- User-Defined Attributes and Rules: Knowledge of creating and managing user-defined attributes for inventory items and using rules to automate and control inventory processes based on specific conditions.
Maintenance
- Maintenance Organizations and Locations: Understanding how to set up maintenance organizations, locations, and work centers. This includes configuring the organization structure to align with the asset maintenance strategy, such as defining departments, cost centers, and locations where maintenance activities will occur.
- Assets and Asset Hierarchies: Knowledge of configuring assets and asset hierarchies, including creating and managing asset records, asset categories, asset groups, and attributes. This also includes setting up asset locations, sub-locations, and establishing hierarchical relationships to support maintenance operations.
- Maintenance Work Definitions: Ability to create maintenance work definitions, including defining maintenance tasks, job roles, and labor resources. This setup ensures that standardized procedures are in place for routine and corrective maintenance activities.
- Maintenance Programs and Schedules: Configuring maintenance programs and schedules for both preventive and predictive maintenance, including setting up calendar based and usage-based maintenance triggers, cycles, and intervals. Knowledge of how to configure PM schedules based on asset conditions, runtime, and usage parameters is essential.
- Work Orders and Work Order Lifecycle: Proficiency in setting up and managing the work order lifecycle, including work order statuses, approvals, and workflow customizations. This includes understanding the configuration for generating, scheduling, releasing, and closing work orders for maintenance tasks.
- Material and Resource Management: Knowledge of setting up material and resource requirements for maintenance work orders, including defining labor, tools, and material needed for specific maintenance tasks. This may involve integrating with Oracle Inventory and Procurement to ensure parts availability.
- Maintenance Costing and Cost Tracking: Configuring maintenance costing elements to track and allocate costs accurately. This includes setting up cost types, cost groups, and cost elements for capturing labor, materials, and overheads, providing visibility into maintenance costs.
- Work Request Management: Configuring work requests to allow end-users to request maintenance services. This includes setting up request templates, request types, and rules for prioritization and routing requests to appropriate teams.
- Integration with Other Modules: Knowledge of integrations with other Oracle modules, such as Inventory, Procurement, and Financials, to manage parts, procurement for maintenance, and cost allocation accurately. Integration with Project Management may also be necessary if maintenance work impacts project timelines.
- Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Rules: Knowledge of defining preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, including using IoT data (if applicable) to set up predictive maintenance schedules. This helps in optimizing maintenance activities and asset utilization.
Order Management
- Order Orchestration Process: Deep understanding of setting up order orchestration processes, including defining and configuring orchestration stages, steps, and conditions to manage different order flows. This includes knowledge of configuring process exceptions, delays, and automating decision points within the order flow.
- Order Types and Rules: Ability to configure various order types (e.g., standard, back-to-back, drop shipment) and set up related processing rules. This includes defining order capture rules, eligibility rules, and assignment rules that control how orders are accepted, processed, and fulfilled.
- Fulfillment Setup: Proficiency in configuring fulfillment setups, including shipment options, fulfillment sources, and managing fulfillment lines. This ensures the system is optimized for order fulfillment based on inventory availability, customer requirements, and delivery timelines.
- Pricing and Discounts: Knowledge of Oracle Pricing configuration to manage pricing strategies within Order Management. This includes defining price lists, discounting rules, promotional pricing, and configuring pricing adjustments and overrides to ensure accurate order pricing.
- Sales Orders and Reservations: Familiarity with configuring sales order reservations, allocations, and demand fulfillment rules. This includes setting up allocation and reservation logic based on inventory availability, customer priority, or other criteria.
