About the Role
Riti Eye Care Hospital is looking for a patient-focused and clinically strong Optometrist to join our growing eye-care team in Prayagraj.
This role is ideal for an optometrist who wants to build strong clinical skills while gaining exposure to comprehensive ophthalmic care, diagnostics, patient counselling and surgical pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive optometric examinations and refraction.
- Perform and document visual acuity, subjective/objective refraction and binocular vision assessments.
- Conduct pre-operative investigations and cataract work-up.
- Perform ophthalmic diagnostic tests such as OCT, fundus photography, pachymetry, IOP and A-scan/biometry, as applicable.
- Identify and appropriately refer patients requiring ophthalmic consultation or surgical intervention.
- Counsel patients and attendants regarding investigations, treatment pathways and surgery.
- Support the clinical team in cataract and other ophthalmic surgical workflows.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with hospital SOPs.
- Coordinate effectively with ophthalmologists, counsellors, nursing, OT and front-office teams.
- Participate in community outreach and eye-screening camps when required.
- Contribute to quality patient experience and smooth patient flow.
What We Are Looking For
- B.Optom / M.Optom or equivalent qualification.
- 1β5 years of relevant experience preferred; freshers with strong clinical fundamentals may also be considered.
- Good knowledge of refraction, binocular vision and ophthalmic diagnostics.
- Exposure to cataract work-up, OCT, fundus imaging and biometry will be an advantage.
- Strong patient communication and counselling skills.
- Comfortable working in a hospital environment and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to participate in outreach camps and community eye-care activities.
- Positive attitude, ownership and willingness to learn.
