Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Surat. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including vision tests, refraction, and basic ocular health assessments, using standardized procedures and diagnostic equipment. The role involves prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses, advising on lens options, and ensuring accurate measurements for frames and fittings. The Optometrist will educate customers on eye health, lens care, and product usage while maintaining accurate patient records in line with company protocols. The position also includes collaborating with store teams to deliver a high-quality customer experience, supporting sales with clinical expertise, and adhering to professional and regulatory standards of optometry practice.
Qualifications
- Formal education in Optometry (Bachelor’s or Diploma in Optometry or equivalent), with valid registration or eligibility to practice as per local regulations.
- Strong clinical skills in refraction, visual acuity assessment, and basic ocular health screening, including use of standard optometry instruments.
- Ability to interpret prescriptions accurately and recommend suitable spectacle lenses, contact lenses, and lens enhancements.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to explain clinical findings, provide guidance on eye care, and support a positive in-store experience.
- Attention to detail, strong record-keeping habits, and comfort working with digital tools and store management systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a retail environment, including weekends or shifts as required, while maintaining professional ethics and patient confidentiality.
- Prior experience in a retail optical or clinical eye care setting is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment is essential.
