Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Optical I&C Engineer with 5–10 years of hands-on experience in installation, commissioning, and testing of optical transport networks. The candidate should have strong knowledge of DWDM/OTN technologies and field deployment activities.
Key Responsibilities
· Installation, commissioning, and integration of optical transport equipment
· Node turn-up, link commissioning, and service provisioning
· Acceptance Testing (ATP/AT) and network handover
· Troubleshooting optical faults, alarms, and performance issues
· Coordination with NOC, planning, and project teams
· Documentation: test reports, as-built diagrams, commissioning reports
· Support network upgrades, migrations, and expansions
· Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards
Required skills & Expertise
· Understanding of DWDM, OTN, and ROADM architectures
· Experience with optical testing tools (OTDR, Power Meter, etc.)
· Knowledge of optical link budget and fiber characterization
· Basic networking concepts (Ethernet, IP fundamentals)
· Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
· Field deployment and site execution experience
Soft Skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Effective communication and teamwork
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Good to Have
· Exposure to remote commissioning tools
· Experience in project coordination or leading site activities
Qualification
- Knowledge of Electrical/Electronic Engineering principles and their application to control
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain control systems effectively
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Electronic
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
