WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Chore Specialist helps manage the Opportunity Council’s Chore Program, assisting elderly and disabled adults remain independent in their home by matching them with community volunteers. The Chore Specialist performs client intake, screening, and referral to partner agencies. The Chore Specialist also oversees volunteer recruitment, orientation and training, as well as coordination of volunteer services and community outreach efforts and program reporting.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs client intake, screening, and alternate referral, when appropriate
- Recruits, orients, trains and supports volunteers, interns and service learning students
- Establishes and maintains strategic partnerships
- Matches clients with volunteers who will provide assistance
- Maintains accurate and confidential volunteer and client records
- Conducts outreach to current volunteers, community groups, and media outlets to ensure a viable volunteer pool is maintained.
- Follows contract requirements, providing accurate and timely monthly and quarterly reports to program funders.
- Secures and maintains program funding.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Associate’s degree in human services, social work, nonprofit management, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in volunteer coordination, case management, community outreach, or working with seniors and/or individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and five-year driving history within Opportunity Council’s Auto Insurance Standards.
